The MINGDA MD-400D combines a large 400 × 400 × 400 mm build volume with independent dual extruders, high-speed Klipper motion control, 350°C hot ends, engineering-material compatibility, and copy and mirror modes. It is built for functional prototypes, jigs and fixtures, end-use parts, low-volume manufacturing, and demanding dual-material prints.

Manufacturer image shows the MD-400D+ configuration.
MD-400D is designed to make large-format dual-material printing practical for engineering teams, production departments, manufacturers, schools, and service bureaus.
01Print larger prototypes, tooling, fixtures, housings, and production parts without splitting designs into multiple pieces.
02Run two materials or two colors with independent toolheads, minimizing the purge waste and cross-contamination common to single-nozzle material-changing systems.
03Produce two identical parts at the same time or print mirrored components in parallel for faster throughput and paired assemblies.
04Print at speeds up to 300 mm/s with peak acceleration up to 10,000 mm/s², supported by input shaping and flow control.
05Go beyond standard PLA and PETG with carbon- and glass-fiber reinforced engineering materials and dedicated support filaments.
06Automatic leveling, filament detection, power-loss recovery, camera monitoring, WiFi connectivity, and power-on self-check reduce operator intervention.
The IDEX architecture gives the MD-400D flexibility that conventional single-extruder printers cannot match.
Dual Material / ColorCombine two colors, rigid + flexible materials, or model + support materials.
Copy ModePrint two identical parts simultaneously to increase output for batch production.
Mirror ModePrint left/right or mirrored components in a single production run.

Independent dual extruders move separately on the X axis. This allows the MD-400D to print with two materials or colors while keeping the unused nozzle away from the part. It also enables duplication and mirror workflows that can effectively turn one machine into a two-part production cell for appropriately sized models.
Copy-mode area: 400 (2 × 200) × 400 × 400 mm
Mirror-mode area: 320 (2 × 160) × 400 × 400 mm
With hot ends capable of reaching 350°C and a heated platform up to 110°C, the MD-400D supports both everyday polymers and higher-performance reinforced materials.

Material compatibility can depend on nozzle configuration, material brand, drying, chamber conditions, and application requirements. Contact Rapid Scan 3D to review your intended material before purchase.
